GPS-controlled spreaders and dozers were used to place topsoil to design depths across rehabilitation areas. Works were staged to minimise compaction of freshly spread material and maintain surface preparation standards for revegetation.

Topsoil is a finite and valuable resource on mine sites. Ensuring it is spread to the correct depth across rehabilitation surfaces — without double-handling or compaction by spreading equipment — requires careful methodology.
